Ukulele for Beginners

The ukulele is very popular as an easy to learn instrument. With only 4 strings, chords are easier to play than on its larger cousin, the six stringed guitar. It is also smaller, cheaper and has a friendly sound that is popular with players of all ages.

Mastering just a few chords (3 – 4) is easy and enables you to play quite a lot of songs. You’ll be expected to sing along with your playing, but you don’t need to be a great singer, just be willing to have a go along with the rest of us! You’ll be surprised just how happy singing along to your ukulele will make you!

We meet at The Institute, Roe Lane, Woodborough (opposite the top end of the Four Bells pub car park) every 1st and 3rd Thursday afternoon, 2.00pm – 4.00pm. £2.00 per session including refreshments.

Both complete beginners and more experienced players are welcome. A short term loan ukulele is available by arrangement.
